Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception

Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception

The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Carcoar is part of the Parish of Blayney and the Diocese of Bathurst.

The church building was erected about 1870. A convent was subsequently built next door in 1874. The church building was designed by Edward Gell. It has a slim stone bellcote and spire and retains its original cooling system which consists of wall cavities through which air passes into outlets in the window sills. The church was proclaimed a Diocesan Shrine by Bishop McKenna on the feast of the Immaculate Conception in 2022.
