Mary MacKillop Indigenous Gardens and Historic Trail

Mary MacKillop was present at Numurkah for the institute’s expansion into Victoria in 1890. Mary also stayed 3 nights at Numurkah in 1896 and one night in 1899. She founded St Joseph’s School, Numurkah, as the first Josephite school in Victoria.

The gardens are on parish land between St John the Baptist Catholic Church and the school.
