The Opening of the Holy Door of St Peter’s Basilica, which will take place on Christmas Eve, 2024, signifies the official commencement of the Jubilee Year: Pilgrims of Hope. It will be first of four Holy Doors in Rome that will be opened during the Jubilee Year.

To be “pilgrims of hope” we need to communicate the Gospel of Christ through our words and actions. Communication is about bringing people together on a shared journey through stories and images that connect us.

The Church recognises that military personnel can contribute enormously to the stability of our world and to the establishment of peace.

The Jubilee of Artists rejoices with gratitude at the creative insights artists bring to human life. The service of beauty is a pathway into the divine and helps us dream of new horizons for the common good. The Jubilee invites artists to contribute to the work of the Church in bringing about a New Creation where people can live in peace and justice.

The Jubilee of Deacons has a theme: ‘Deacons: Joyful Witnesses of Hope’, reminding us that Deacons help bring the hope and love of Christ to a world which has lost hope.
