St Macartan’s

For more than 150 years, St Macartan’s has played a central role in the lives of local residents and visitors to Victoria’s stunning Mornington Peninsula, a region renowned for its natural beauty and coastal charm.

Built in 1909, the current church features a beautiful stained-glass window of its patron, St Macartan, a companion of St Patrick, reflecting the Irish Catholic origins of this church and community. St Macartan’s has the distinction of being the closest church to the beach in the Archdiocese, and even has its own motorcycle club, the Peninsular Riders.
